Forest Whitaker will take on the lead role of the man who served under eight presidents in his 34-year service.
Oprah Winfrey, David Oyelowo, Liam Neeson, John Cusack, Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda, Robin Williams, Terrence Howard, Lenny Kravitz, Cuba Gooding Jr, James Marsden, Aml Ameen and Liev Schreiber are also part of the all-star cast.
The film is based on Wil Haygood's 2008 Washington Post article 'A Butler Well Served by This Election'.
Daniels wrote the script with Danny Strong.
The Butler will arrive in US cinemas on October 18. A UK date is yet to be confirmed
