Carey Mulligan: 'Fans don't notice me with Marcus Mumford'

Carey Mulligan has revealed that she is not often recognised in public.
The Great Gatsby actress explained that most fans are more aware of her husband Marcus Mumford, the frontman of Mumford & Sons.

"I'm not worried about being a household name," she told Look magazine.

"I never get recognised. My husband is recognised all the time. His fans barely look at me."

Carey Mulligan married the folk musician back in April 2012, having previously dated actor Shia Labeouf.

The actress plays Daisy Buchanan opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel The Great Gatsby.

However, she explained that she is nothing like her character in real life.

"I feel exactly the opposite," she said. "There are very few similarities between us. She's much more feminine. She's much more groomed and she's a little directionless. I think I have a little more direction!

"She has shallow characteristics, but she also has a depth of feeling and conviction."

The Great Gatsby is released in the US on May 10 and in the UK on May 16.
