Ja Rule has been released from a New York prison after several months behind bars.
The Fast and the Furious star began serving time for tax evasion in February, immediately after completing a separate sentence for gun possession.
Ja Rule was initially sentenced to nearly two years behind bars for allegedly illegally carrying a weapon in his vehicle, only for a second jail sentence to be handed down for failing to pay taxes on $3 million in income from 2004 to 2006.
The rapper spent his latest sentence at Ray Brook Federal Prison, but TMZ reports that he was granted early release today (May 7).
His wife Aisha Murray apparently picked Ja Rule up from the jail, and transferred him to their family home. Ja Rule is now required to stay on home confinement until July 28.
A spokesperson for the rapper has yet to comment on his release
