Jedward to ditch name in favour of 'John and Edward'?

Jedward have allegedly decided to ditch their famous name.

The pair will now be known as 'John and Edward Grimes-Jedward' as part of their "metamorphosis" from teen stars into mature artists, the Irish Independent reports.
It is said to be the latest change the duo are making to move on from the image they had during their time on The X Factor in 2009. Last year, they lost their oversized quiffs made famous on the ITV show.

Louis Walsh - who championed them on The X Factor - is reportedly in favour of the more serious image.

The 'Lipstick' singers will embark on a six-date tour of the UK in September, with shows scheduled in Lowestoft, Cardiff and Leicester.

Katy Perry overtakes Lady GaGa as most followed woman on Twitter

Katy Perry has overtaken Lady GaGa to become the most followed female on Twitter.

The 'Firework' singer currently has almost 39.9 million followers, compared with GaGa's follower count of almost 39.3 million.

The pair both trail behind Justin Bieber, who recently became the first person to reach over 40 million followers and currently has around 42.3 million.

GaGa has been inactive on Twitter for some months, with her last tweet sent in February and her profile picture changing to the default egg image.

Her silence is thought to be in anticipation of her upcoming album ARTPOP, which will be released as a record and app on November 11.

A report into fake Twitter followers earlier this year suggested that half of Justin Bieber's followers are fake, meaning they are following less than 50 accounts, have less than one follower and have never tweeted themselves.

Both GaGa and Perry were deemed to have more real followers than fake.

Selena Gomez: 'Justin Bieber split stressed me out'

Selena Gomez has admitted that she was "stressed out" following her split from on-off boyfriend Justin Bieber earlier in the year.

The 'Come & Get It' singer and Bieber were reported to have broken up in January, in the aftermath of an allegedly heated row over the holidays.

Gomez opened up about that time in her life to Ryan Seacrest for E! News, and acknowledged that it wasn't easy for her to put on a brave face in public.

"I'm sure you could actually see those pictures of me being way stressed about it," she recalled. "It's hard, because what do you do? Do you sit in your house and hide and not go anywhere?"

She further explained: "I was 18 when we started to date and you just have to be an 18-year-old and go through everything."

Bieber and Gomez were recently reported to have reconciled at an Independence Day party, although the exact status of their relationship remains unclear.

The 'Boyfriend' singer's mother Pattie Mallette has even admitted that she is unsure if her son Bieber is dating Gomez again.

Miley Cyrus advises Justin Bieber: 'Take a hiatus'

Miley Cyrus has revealed that she recently advised Justin Bieber to step away from the spotlight.

Bieber has been involved in several controversies this year, including facing possible charges for spitting at a neighbour and allegedly being thrown out of a club for being served alcohol.

His close friend Cyrus reportedly told The People that Bieber has simply made "dumb" mistakes, just as many other young people do.

"I told Justin to take a bit of time out and people aren't so obsessed with you and nit-pick," Cyrus is quoted as saying. "When you're not around, all they want is your music. They want to see what the next thing is. But when your music is out they just want to talk s**t about you."

Cyrus went on to say: "When you're a worldwide star, everyone sees everything. Lots of people make a video and put it on Instagram, some people might think it's funny but because it's Justin Bieber, it's like really bad.

"I always tell him just to be cool and not talk about it because when you talk it fuels the fire. He's still stupid though. But everyone does dumb stuff when they are messed up."

It has also been reported that Britney Spears has encouraged Bieber to stay on the rails, after being asked to intervene by the 'Never Say Never' singer's management.

Bieber is currently on tour, and will next perform in Kanata, Ontario, Canada on Tuesday (July 23).

Adele, One Direction, Paul McCartney call for Pussy Riot jail release

Adele, Sir Paul McCartney, One Direction, Madonna and Bruce Springsteen have called for the members of Pussy Riot to be released from a Russian prison.

Pussy Riot's Maria Alyokhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Yekaterina Samutsevich were found guilty of hooliganism on the grounds of religious hatred for performing a protest song at a Russian cathedral in 2012.

Samutsevich was released on appeal last October, but Alyokhina and Tolokonnikova remain jailed ahead of a parole hearing on Wednesday (July 24).

More than 100 artists have joined with Amnesty International in an open letter to declare that the fallout from Pussy Riot's "shockingly unjust trial and imprisonment has spread far and wide, especially among your fellow artists, musicians and citizens around the world".

U2, Billy Bragg, Coldplay, Ozzy Osbourne, Blondie's Debbie Harry, Sting, Eddie Vedder and Kate Nash have also joined the cause.

Notable human rights campaigners Bob Geldof and Yoko Ono have partnered with Amnesty International on behalf of Pussy Riot as well.

"I thank Pussy Riot for standing firmly in their belief for Freedom of Expression, and making all women of the world proud to be women," Ono said.

A full list of musicians supporting Pussy Riot can be found on Amnesty International's website.

Pussy Riot member Alyokhina recently went on a hunger strike over security concerns at her prison.

Her hunger strike lasted 11 days, until prison officials reportedly responded to her requests,

The clip sees the star gently licking metal fingers, while sporting brunette hair and looking intensely into the camera.

The star announced that the first single to be lifted from the set will be released on August 19, while ARTPOP and the accompanying app will follow on November 11.

GaGa will also host an exhibition of various projects alongside collaborators Inez & Vinoodh, Robert Wilson, Marina Abramović and Jeff Koons.

Zayn Malik took a bite out of bandmate Harry Styles's candy underwear at a recent concert.

One Direction were performing in Columbus, Ohio on Tuesday (June 18) when Styles began showing off a candy thong.

His bandmates immediately began urging him to slip into the garment, which Styles eventually put on over his trousers.

Malik then leaned over to bite some of the candy from the underwear, prompting huge squeals from the fans in the audience.

Meanwhile, Louis Tomlinson appeared to joke: "That is so inappropriate for this time at night."

One Direction are currently touring the US in support of their second album Take Me Home and recently rapped and twerked during their show in Miami.

Amanda Bynes on cosmetic surgeries: 'I had webbing between my eyes'

Amanda Bynes has claimed that she has had surgery to remove "webbing" between her eyes.

The former child star - who previously opened up about having cosmetic procedures on her nose - took to her Twitter page to tell her followers that she will not pursue a music career until she is happy with the way she looks.

"I was born with a webbing in between my eyes," she wrote. "That was a birth defect that I had surgically removed! I've never been more excited!"

She added: "Now I need a few more surgeries to shave the bridge down to correct the rest of my nose so I can start the next chapter of my career! Music!"

Bynes added that she thinks of herself as a "hero" because she has "suffered 27 years with a birth defect" and only just had it "surgically removed".

"I had to share my story with you so the media would stop using old photos of me and stop writing lies about me having odd behaviour when I was just embarrassed to share the fact that I had a birth defect," she said. "As soon as I had it removed I couldn't wait to talk about it!"

Bynes also revealed that she will have more surgery on Saturday, adding: "My doctors are heroes who also correct kids who have cleft lip - something as traumatic as webbing in between your eyes!"

She concluded: "I wanted to share my story with you to prove that I'm not crazy, I was just embarrassed. Surgery is a complete miracle for me - nothing can hold you back from living out your dreams. There's a surgery for everything that's wrong with you!"

Recent reports suggested that Bynes was due to work with Wyclef Jean and sign a deal with Chinga Changa Records but she has now dismissed those rumours, tweeting: "I never spoke to anyone at Chinga Changa Records. I got an offer for a bigger record deal that I'm taking as soon as I get my surgeries!.

Amanda Bynes collaboration rumours denied by Wyclef Jean

Wyclef Jean has reportedly denied rumours that he will collaborate with Amanda Bynes on a new album.

Chinga Chang Records CEO Daniel Herman recently stated that the pair would work together on the troubled actress's first musical release.

However, the Fugees rapper has since told TMZ via his representatives that he has "no intention" to record with Bynes.

Wyclef Jean's spokesperson added that he has not even ever spoken to Bynes in the past.

Herman recently said of Bynes's LP: "This album is going to shock the world. She has such a great voice. Singers wish they could hit the notes that Amanda does."

Avril Lavigne has also dismissed rumours that she will record a duet with Amanda Bynes.

Bynes was recently arrested for allegedly throwing a bong out of her New York apartment window.

She has also been involved in several Twitter spats with celebrities including Chrissy Teigen, Perez Hilton and Courtney Love.

The Wanted's Max George jokes about impregnating woman

Max George joked about impregnating a woman while promoting his band's reality show The Wanted Life yesterday.

The singer - who is seen taking a female guest into his bedroom in the first episode of the series - was asked by a reporter if he regrets his actions.

George, who described the women in the US as "a challenge", replied: "Do I have any regrets? Well, she hasn't rang me with any news, so... no news is good news in my book.

"So not so far! I'll give it another seven months and I'll tell you then, but it's all good."

George immediately appeared to have second thoughts about his joke, quipping: "I'm going to f**king live to regret that one, aren't I?"

Elsewhere, George explained that he didn't ask for anything to be edited out in case his family saw it.

"I don't think it's anything that my mum hasn't seen - well, it is!" he joked. "I think they'll understand. I'm more concerned about my nana really than my mum, because I still live with my mum so she sees it anyway."

However, George ruled out the possibility of watching the show with his mother, admitting: "I couldn't do that!"

"There are bits that you look at like, 'Oh my God'."

The Wanted Life premieres in the UK on Monday, June 24 at 9pm on E! The show airs in the US on Sundays on E!

Miley Cyrus defends smoking weed: 'Alcohol is much more dangerous'

Miley Cyrus has defended the recreational use of marijuana by suggesting that drinking alcohol is far more destructive.

The 'We Can't Stop' singer said in a recent Rolling Stone interview that pot smokers tend to be far more mellow than people consuming alcohol.

"I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana - people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care," Cyrus commented.

She continued: "I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed… As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things.

"And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."

Cyrus also answered coyly when quizzed on if she smokes marijuana regularly.

"I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks', so people can put it together for themselves," she quipped.

The 20-year-old famously set off a firestorm of controversy in December 2010 when video footage emerged of her smoking a bong with friends at her LA home.

Cyrus later clarified that the substance in the bong was actually the natural herb salvia, which is legal in the state of California.

Justin Bieber threatened with lawsuit by photographer?

Justin Bieber is being threatened with a lawsuit over his entourage's alleged confrontation with a photographer in Miami.

Gustavo Garces turned over an audio tape to the press in early June that appeared to document Bieber allegedly ordering his security to seize Garces's camera outside the Hit Factory studio.

Bieber is accused of ultimately consenting to return the paparazzo's camera, but only after taking Garces's memory card so that no pictures of the incident could surface.

A lawyer representing Garces has now sent a legal letter to Bieber demanding the return of the memory card, according to TMZ.

Garces is apparently preparing a lawsuit against the 'Never Say Never' singer, and wants to use the memory card as evidence.

His lawyer warned Bieber that there would be "dire consequences" if the memory card was wiped, as that would be tampering with evidence.

Bieber has not responded to the legal request at this time.

His security team were involved in two other run-ins with photographers as well in the last few weeks, with a member of his entourage accused of choking another photographer outside the same Miami recording studio.

They were also probed by police for allegedly trying to stop a fan from taking pictures of Bieber in Hollywood.

Miley Cyrus: 'My old music is irritating'

Miley Cyrus has revealed that she feels "disconnected" from her musical past.

The singer admitted that she finds it "irritating" that people can listen to her previous albums - which includes five LPs from her Disney series Hannah Montana - on iTunes.

"Right now, when people go to iTunes and listen to my old music, it's so irritating to me because I can't just erase that stuff and start over," she told Billboard.

"My last record [2009's Can't Be Tamed] I feel so disconnected from - I was 16 or 17 when I made it. When you're in your 20s, you just don't really know that person anymore."

Discussing her new single 'We Can't Stop', she explained: "I didn't make this song for the critics, but for the people living it.

"I'm 20 years old and I want to talk to the people that are up all night with their friends. It's based on a true story of a crazy night I had. When I heard the song for the first time, it captured exactly what I was living."

The star recently revealed that recording her new LP helped her discover who she is.

Cyrus's 'We Can't Stop' is out in the US now and released in the UK on August 18. Listen to the song in full below:

Amanda Bynes 'sick of magazines' insanity'

Amanda Bynes has urged magazines to get in touch with her before running stories.

The actress - who has been under an intense media spotlight recently - wrote on her Twitter page that she is fed up with publications using "sources" to discuss her personal life.

Attention magazines: If you speak to a 'source' who claims to know me, they don't!" she tweeted. "STOP with your insanity! Tweet me! I'll dm [direct message] you my info!"

Bynes warmed to her theme in a longer message posted on her Twitter page, urging publications to "Contact [her] Personally".

"I'm sick of your insanity!" she wrote. "You CAN NOT talk about someone you don't know."

She added: "You can't state something about me by hearing it through someone I don't know/met once and never spoke to again who now claims to still know me enough to check MY brain and search inside it and find a developed at 27 mental illness without getting a huge lawsuit at your office."

Justin Bieber says Tyler the Creator was driving recklessly, not him?

Justin Bieber's security personnel have reportedly told police that Tyler the Creator was behind the wheel of Bieber's car when neighbors complained about reckless driving.

The LAPD were dispatched to Bieber's Calabasas, CA home on May 27 after receiving complaints from neighbors that he was driving irresponsibly around children.
Police later publicly issued a request to have a sit-down interview with Bieber over the matter, rather than continue speaking to his representatives.

A source has told TMZ that Bieber's security team have informed police that they possess a video which proves that Tyler the Creator was actually driving erratically in the vehicle, not Bieber.

Bieber's team have apparently not yet turned over the supposed video footage to the LAPD.
This version of events would contradict statementsreportedly made by former NFL star Keyshawn Johnson, who apparently followed the vehicle back to Bieber's home and confronted the popstar in his driveway.

Johnson is thought to have made one of the initial complaints to police, and his representative later said the athlete would "do whatever it takes" to aid the investigation.

A spokesperson for Bieber has not commented on this matter.

Angelina Jolie on red carpet return post-mastectomy: "I feel great"

Angelina Jolie thanked her fans for their support at last night's World War Z premiere following her double mastectomy operation.

The actress joined partner Brad Pitt for the London premiere of his latest movie yesterday (June 2), in what was her first public appearance since announcing her decision to have the surgery back in February.

Jolie told BBC News that she feels "great" since the operation, and that she is "very grateful" for the support given to her.

She said: "I've been very happy just to see the discussion about women's health expanded and that means the world to me.

"[Pitt] has been extraordinary, he's such a wonderful man and a wonderful father and I'm very lucky."

She added: "After losing my mother to these issues, I'm very grateful for it and very moved by the support."

"It's a very moving experience, it's brought our family tighter together. I get a little emotional about it 'cause what it has meant to others has really surprised me, she's a very special woman."

Last month, Jolie confirmed that she had been diagnosed with a mutated BRCA1 gene, which carries a high risk of cancer. She underwent the mastectomy in February, before having reconstructive surgery in April.

Harry Styles 'to be best man at mum's wedding'

Harry Styles will reportedly act as best man at his mother's wedding tomorrow (June 1).

The One Direction singer's mum Anne Cox will wed her long-term partner Robin Twist, who has helped raise Styles since his parents' split when he was 7 years old.

The couple chose a wedding date to fit in with her famous son's busy tour schedule, according to The Mirror.

John Legend: 'Chrissy Teigen and I have picked wedding date'

John Legend has revealed that he and Chrissy Teigen have solidified their wedding plans.

The couple got engaged in December 2011 while on vacation in the Maldives

Teigen appeared to suggest earlier this year that she had set a wedding deadline for Legend, only to later insist that she had been joking.

Legend has now told Extra that they have selected both a wedding date and a location for their nuptials, but he chose to keep the details private.

The singer did reveal that his fiancé is planning a very traditional ceremony, saying: "My sense is her taste is more classic."

Legend will be releasing his new album Love In The Future on June 24 in the UK and a day later in the US.

Miley Cyrus spotted wearing Liam Hemsworth engagement ring in LA

Miley Cyrus has been spotted wearing her wedding ring amid continued speculation surrounding her relationship with Liam Hemsworth.

The 'Can't Be Tamed' singer, who got engaged last year, was seen with her ring while filming her latest music video in LA.

Multiple reports have suggested in recent weeks that Hemsworth and Cyrus have ended their relationship.

The Hunger Games actor was allegedly spotted kissing Mad Men star January Jones at an Oscars party, which was said to have brought about the apparent split.

However, an insider told People: "They still need to work on their relationship, but after they decided to postpone the wedding, they are doing better. They feel less stress and less pressure now. Miley can focus on her music."

The source went on to claim that the two are still living together.

Miley Cyrus's new single 'We Can't Stop' will debut on June 3.
